Your frequent asked questions regarding DWU National Conference 2015 answered here! Please scan through topics to guide you to your possible questions you may have.

 

{GENERAL}

Q: What is Deaf Women United?

A: Please visit their Facebook page and website to learn about the fabulous organization. We are currently working to enhance our website and organization as one. If you have any concerns, comments nor suggestions on how we can best serve you as a Deaf Women. Please do share away on either pages.

 

Q: Who is DWBA?

A: Deaf Women of the Bay Area (DWBA) is a local group of women in Northern California who will host the DWU National Conference in 2015.

 

Q: Is the DWU 2015 Conference dates final?

A: Yes. July 13-14 is when we will host Youth Strand Program and July 15-19 is the dates for the National Conference.

 

{REGISTRATION}

Q: What is the qualifying age for Seniors rate for the registration?

A: You can qualify for the Seniors rate if you are 65 years old or older.

 

Q: How can I qualify for the Student rate for the registration?

A: You can proceed and register. Once you complete the registration process, we will need a copy of your current College ID. You only need to be a current student at time of registration.

 

Q: I have choosen a layaway plan but want to pay more than requested.

A: You can make payments more than what is asked for. Just let us know and if you choose to pay off earlier than due dates given. Contact us to communicate your wishes and we will gladly work with you.

 

Q: Can I mail a check instead of using PayPal?

A: Yes. Please communicate your preferred method with the registration committee and you can write your check payable to: DCARA with "DWU 2015 Registration" in the memo line.

Note: there will be a charge for returned/bounced checks.

Q: What is your refund policy?

A: Our registration fee refund policy applies to those who paid in full is as follows:

  • 50% refund by February 1, 2015

  •  25% refund by April 1, 2015

  • NO REFUNDS after April 1, 2015

  • All PayPal refunds will be refunded minus the PayPal fees

  • For those who are on layaway plan: if you are not paid in full, it's not refundable. 

  • No transfers will be allowed at this time (Effective February 2015)

 

Q: What does my registration fee include?

A: Your registration includes:

  • Three days of DWU conference

  • Meals: (3) breakfast meals, (2) lunch meals, (1) dinner meal

  • 30 years of DWU: Opening ceremony (Wednesday night)

  • Enterainment and events through three days and nights

  • Closing ceremonies and banquet (Saturday night)

  • Tour options

  • Deaf Women Art Gallery

  • Full access to Fitness classes, Marketplace & Special Interest Groups

  • Full access to Claremont's amenities for those who stay at Claremont

  • and many more surprises!

 

Q: Will there be scholarship opportunities?

A: Deaf Women United have offered Scholarship opportunity that has closed on February 6, 2015. We will be appointing Scholarship reciepents for all opportunities by end of February. For more information, please contact us at DWUConference2015@gmail.com

 

{SPONSORSHIP FAQ}

Q: I may be interested in sponsoring the conference, whom do I contact?

A: We welcome all sponsors and please e-mail conferencedwusponsors@gmail.com.

 

Q: I know of someone who would be interested in sponsoring the conference, whom do I contact?

A: We welcome all sponsors referrals and recommendations, please e-mail conferencedwusponsors@gmail.com and share away!

 

{WORKSHOPS FAQ}

Q: I want to present at DWU conference.

A: We have closed our Call for Papers submissions on July 28, 2014. If you have any further questions, please contact us at conferenceDWUworkshops@gmail.com.

 

Q: Do presenters receive royalities for presenting at the DWU conference?

A: We regret we will not be able to provide honoraria nor waive the registration fee for participating presenters. However, we will offer reduced registration fee of $290 for those accepted presenters among with additional surplus we will provide at the conference!
